What is hard chroming?

Hard chroming is the process of applying chrome to a metal surface by way of electroplating, reducing its friction by up to 70%. Using this process allows for greater surface lubrication and therefore a reduction in friction and wear. We work to Australian Standards 68-72 Rockwell C. hard chrome.

Hard chrome plating offers a wide range of characteristics, such as:

  • Longer product life span
  • Hardness
  • Lubricity
  • Durability
  • Corrosion resistance

  • Less friction – which causes wear
  • Reduce cost by extending life of components
  • Components are more resilient in abrasive environments
  • Improved wear over hardened steel
  • Restore obsolete parts to original specifications
